We are excited to announce that EWS has become an employee-owned company, with the shares held in Trust for the benefit of all current and future employees.
Since we started trading in 2001 EWS has experienced significant growth creating a customer focused, independent local Electrical Supplier to Industrial, commercial and domestic customers.
EWS will continue to operate according to the values which were put in place by Brian Nicholson and Brian Lake providing outstanding advice and service with quality products from well respected Electrical Manufacturers.
EWS chose an Employee Ownership Trust because it embodies the company culture in which we all feel responsible for the business’ performance and success. Establishing the Trust is the next step in our progress and direction which has always been characterised by a strong community of friendship, ethos of profit sharing and equal opportunity. A Trust also ensures job security and keeps EWS as a locally owned independent company contributing to the local economy.
Brian Nicholson said - “Since founding EWS in 2001 we have seen the business grow into a renowned and respected Electrical Supplier, thanks to the commitment of our staff and our loyal customers. We have collectively taken the decision to turn the company into an Employee Ownership Trust in order to put the future of the business firmly in the hands of those that have built it – our employees. It also enables a gradual exit strategy towards retirement for me knowing the company is in safe hands and I will continue to act as a Consultant as required.”
Ian Sutherland added - “EWS has changed massively since I joined in 2007, and everyone has played their part in the Company’s growth. The EOT is a new, exciting, chapter in our story. We, the staff, are all ready for the challenge and will be looking to build on the huge success that we had under Brian, who’s vision made EWS what it is today. We’re all very grateful to him for this opportunity, he can rest assured that his legacy for EWS will continue well into the future.”
